Back into blogging

I know it has been a while since I wrote, but I am feeling like it is a good time to restart.

I just got back from Ithaca where I prepared my house to sell. Or, more accurately, I cleaned out my stuff but the tenants, a very sweet family from Togo (in Africa), have a ton of stuff everywhere. Just as I was feeling like the house would never be ready to sell because of all the boxes and stuff everywhere. Luckily, on the last day of my visit, my friend Kristen found out that she can not renew her lease and asked about buying my house. I would be so excited to sell to her, she is a historic preservationist and would be the perfect steward of the house. Also, everyone on the block (two people, three if my friend moves in) are named Kristen or Christine and has a son named Sam(uel). Also, all the husbands are environmental historians (again, two and maybe now a third).

So, the inspection is on Friday. I am really nervous. I have invested so much time and money in the house, and there were so many improvements I made, that I feel like the inspection is a reflection on me. Of course it is not, but the house was my major project for almost two years, and it scares me what an expert will say when he pokes around.

We will see.
